A Legacy Rooted in Schenectady

Boulevard Bowl was established in 1960 and has long served as a gathering place for generations of families growing up in Schenectady. For more than six decades, it has been a place where friendships are formed, traditions are passed down, and the community comes together through the simple joy of bowling.

In 1985, Boulevard Bowl was purchased by Jack Scaccia Sr., a passionate and accomplished bowler whose love for the sport shaped the heart of the business. Jack believed bowling was more than a game—it was a way to connect people, build confidence, and foster sportsmanship. He took great pride in mentoring young bowlers, always eager to share his knowledge with anyone willing to listen. Supporting youth bowling and watching local high school teams compete were especially meaningful to him, as he recognized the role athletics can play in shaping young lives.

Carrying the Legacy Forward

After Jack’s passing in 2003, his family committed to carrying on his legacy. Over the past 20+ years, Boulevard Bowl has remained dedicated to supporting youth development through junior bowling programs, high school competitions, school-based activities, and partnerships that make the sport accessible to students of all backgrounds. These programs not only help sustain the sport of bowling but also provide young people with opportunities to learn teamwork, perseverance, and healthy competition in a welcoming environment.

Bowling is a lifelong sport that can be enjoyed from age five to ninety-five, and Boulevard Bowl proudly encourages participation at every stage, whether for friendly competition, skill-building, or simply sharing laughs with friends and family.

A Worthy Community Partner

As a longstanding supporter of youth athletics, school programs, and community engagement, Boulevard Bowl exemplifies the spirit of partnership celebrated by the Crystal Apple Award. Its continued commitment to Schenectady’s students reflects a deep-rooted belief that strong communities are built by investing in the next generation.

Bowling is a lifelong sport that brings people together through friendly competition, or through many laughs. You get to decide which one fits you best, either way, you will always enjoy it. Go bowling!
